Y-Strap is a decompression device used to stretch the back to relieve pressure on the spine. The device has been developed from manual Y-axis spine pulling techniques to help reduce spinal strain. It can stretch the spine with a slow but steady force, relaxing the muscles and relieving tension in the back and neck. With the help of Y-Strap, it is possible to restore the natural position of joints and muscles.
Why is this stretcher called a Y-belt?
The Y-axis, or more specifically the Y-axis drive belt, is named after the body axis (Y-axis) where the tension is. The Y-axis, also known as the vertical axis, is aligned with the spine, head, and legs. After attaching the Y-strap to the size of the user's head, the two "hands" lead to the y-strap handle, which is used to stretch the y-strap on the y-axis of the user's body.
Tensile force and decompression of the spine
Spinal traction is a technique used to stretch the spine, in which the discs between the vertebrae are decompressed. The main purpose of stretching the spine is to relax the muscles, increase the space between the joints (the space between the spines) and reduce the pressure on the nerves in the spine. There are many ways to decompress the spine, some of which are:
- Gravitational stretching: hanging from the legs, upside down, to stretch the lower and upper part of the spine.
- Fully manual decompression: using your hands to grasp the back and forehead of your head to pull your head toward the Y-axis.
- Manual tool decompression: Many tools are available for stretching the spine. They use rubber bands, weights, gravity or human force to decompress the spine.
- Mechanical / motorized spinal decompression: machines designed for the automatic performance of spinal decompression and the use of electrical energy.
What is a chin strap and why is it needed?
The Y-strap works independently with most users, but because of the large anatomical differences between people, some less prominent occipital users may slip on the Y-strap. This is a situation where the chin strap has to be used. The chin strap allows our customers to use the Y-strap for any occipital anatomy. The chin strap is a separately padded auxiliary strap that is attached to the main Y-strap with a reusable velcro strap over the user's chin to stabilize the user's head inside the Y-strap.
Y-Strap is handmade in the European Union, it has a 45cm long chin strap to support the chin. Made of high quality materials.
