It is advisable to consult a family doctor or physiotherapist before renting the device.
In addition to physiotherapy, ultrasound therapy is used to achieve an effective solution to a health problem.
Ultrasound therapy is used for various health problems such as:
- muscle spasms and muscle pain
- to speed up the repair of tendon tissue
- to speed up bone healing
- for the treatment of tendinitis and bursitis
- overload pain in the shoulder girdle and lower back
- low back pain
- myalgia
- behterev disease
- radiculopathy
- osteoarthritis of the spine or joints
- flower pot
- carpal tunnel syndrome
- pain due to immobilization
- rheumatic joint pain
- post-traumatic pain
- sprains and strains of the joints
- for the treatment of joint contractures
- for the treatment of warts
- for the treatment of osteoarthritis
- for the treatment of neurofibromas
- for the treatment of scar tissue
- for the treatment of wounds (trophic ulcer)
Ultrasound therapy is a comfortable and painless procedure. First, the absence of contraindications for ultrasound treatment is determined (Consult a doctor or physiotherapist). You will be given an intensity and duration of treatment. To perform the treatment procedure, the contact agent (oil, gel, etc.) is first applied to the area to be treated and the tip of the ultrasound treatment apparatus is placed on the body surface. Used to improve the therapeutic effect SacredEarth Botanicals® natural healing oil or gel (included) as an ultrasonic contact. Gels available from, for example, Voltaren Emulgel or other pharmacies, the therapeutic properties of which are enhanced by the ultrasound effect of delivering therapeutic agents deeper into the tissues, can also be used as the ultrasound contact. During the treatment session, you will feel a pleasant feeling of warmth in the treated area.
Select intensity:
The nature of trauma | Intensity (W / cm2) | |
Acute | 0.1-0.3 | |
Intermediate | 0.2-0.5 | |
Chronic | 0.3-0.8 |
Contraindications:
- tumor processes (area of malignancies)
- bleeding
- infections and infectious diseases
- pregnancy (abdominal and lower back area during pregnancy)
- area of joint replacements
- pacemaker
- risk of thrombosis or embolism
- inflammatory or febrile diseases
- heart, - liver, - kidney failure
Precautions
Ultrasound indications
Pain relief, muscle cramps, joint contracture
Pain relief, muscle cramps, joint contracture that may be related to:
o Adhesive capsulite
o Inflammation of the joints (slight calcification)
o Myositis
o Soft tissue injuries
o Shortened tendons (due to previous injuries)
Chronic pain and joint contracture that may be associated with:
o Capsule tightness
Contraindications
The device must not be used:
for the relief of local symptomatic pain without the pain syndrome
without diagnosis
The device must not be used in the presence of a carcinogenic lesion
The device must not be used in the presence of open wounds
Do not use in patients with severe infectious disease and / or general
for medical reasons
In the case of a fracture in the central part of the bone growth
A pacemaker is installed in the chest area as a patient
In the area of healing fracture
Do not touch the patient's eyes
In the case of a pregnant patient in the womb
In patients with a diagnosis of vascular disease (blood supply problems) who
blood supply may become too weak during therapy and necrosis may occur
When using ultrasound, extra attention should be paid to:
If the therapy involves the spinal cord in a patient after laminectomy
Anesthetic areas
For haemorrhagic diathesis
Burns
When using ultrasound therapy, burns may occur if the therapy is performed incorrectly. Skin burns
may occur in the following cases:
If the intensity is too strong
If too low a frequency is used
Using stationary technology (sound heads are kept in one place)
If the head is moved too slowly
When administering therapy to a patient with hypersensitive skin
In the bony area (bones reflect sound waves back and increase the intensity around the bone marrow)
Avoid overheating the sound head
Follow the instructions below to prevent the head from overheating:
No head contact should be avoided during therapy
When performing therapy in water, care must be taken to ensure that the sound head is completely submerged throughout the therapy
For direct coupling, the most conductive gel should be used during therapy to achieve better contact
between the sound head and the patient's skin
In an area where the connection between the sound head and the patient is poor, the operating cycle of the device should be reduced
power (duty cycle)
Prevention of complications
The following notes should be followed to avoid negative results during ultrasound therapy.
Movement of the sound head
Moving the sound head too slowly during therapy can cause complications and pain for the patient. Too fast
with good head movement, the head may not achieve good enough contact with the patient and the effectiveness of the therapy
decreases. This can also cause the sound head to overheat.
Patient sensitivity
Some patients may be more sensitive to ultrasound therapy and may experience skin irritation.
Be sure to check the area to be treated before and after the procedure. The procedure is coming
discontinue immediately if contraindications occur.
Output power
Depending on the need and the patient's characteristics, a lower wattage should be chosen to reduce the output power
number or use a pulsed duty cycle. Higher output powers are higher
possibility of complications.
Helipea contact
In order to achieve proper contact between the audio head of the device and the patient, a dedicated device must be used
conductive substances (eg gels, corresponding liquids). In water therapy, only water is the leading agent
itself (the sound head must be completely submerged in this case).
5cm² Sound head
Frequency 1MHz, 3,3 MHz
Power 0 watts - 10 watts
Effective radiating area 3,5m² - 5cm²

The same machine as at Mustamäe Hospital. However, there was no time to go to the hospital every day - so I rented it home and forced my husband to massage it on his back every day for 3 minutes. 😀 I recommend!
