Plantar bandage massage with Mini Blackroll

massage the sole

plantar fasciitisPlantar fascia massage helps in the treatment or prevention of plantar fasciitis.

The most common cause of heel and sole pain is plantar fasciitis, which is an inflammation of the ligament under the sole. As a result of plantar fasciitis, a bone hole or cockscomb protrudes from the ligament at the site of attachment. One of the most effective treatments is to massage the bandage on the sole of the sole.

There is a strong fascia under the sole of the foot, which is attached to the heel bone. Overload and repetitive minor injuries are thought to result in inflammation or fasciitis, which causes pain in the heel area.
At the site of attachment of the ligament to the heel, inflammation of the bone begins due to inflammation and a so-called flower pot. Thus, the cockscomb is the result of inflammation, not the other way around. Plantar fasciitis is more common in men and the disease increases with age. Risk factors include flat feet as well as high sole arch, incorrect foot position when walking, obesity, foot overload (prolonged walking and standing, running) and the use of footwear with poor soles.

Symptoms or manifestation

With plantar fasciitis, there is pain in the middle of the heel, which worsens when walking and running, and is relieved at rest. The pain is usually severe even when you start walking, especially in the morning.
The pain worsens when you stand on your toes and go up the stairs. Externally, the heel and sole have not usually changed. When touched, the pain is strongest under the heel in the middle, where the bandage is attached.

Treatment options

The foot should be given as much rest as possible. A variety of protective pads, soles and orthopedic footwear placed under the sole are very helpful in reducing the strain on the affected area. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory tablets (ibuprofen, diclofenac) and injection of a corticosteroid into the ligament attachment site are used to reduce pain.
To avoid shortening the bandage, stretching exercises, rolling and a splint placed on the foot overnight for several weeks are used, which keeps the foot bent (toes up) and stretches the plantar fascia.

Prevention

Use shoes with good soles for prevention, especially in sports and work that requires long standing and walking, and avoid hard floors (if necessary, put a thicker rubber mat under the feet, for example). Avoid being overweight. Do stretching exercises and massage the soles of the soles in the evenings.
